James Fulton is a CEO and entrepreneur with 27+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Operations, Tax Planning, Business Consulting/Coaching, Grants Management, Nonprofit Management and Education Management.
James currently serves as an Executive Coach for C-Suites (CEO’s, COO’s and CFO’s), Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners. He is also President of J.J. Fulton Companies, a full-service consulting agency, offering Fractional CEO, CFO and COO Services to small businesses and nonprofits.
In past years, he has served in several C‐Suite roles for educational and nonprofit agencies including Louisiana Technical College, Second Harvest Food Bank, Choice Foundation and Community Academies of New Orleans. James has managed complex entities with budgets in excess of $25 Million and employees in excess of 350 employees.
Since graduating from Pittsburg State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting (1996) and the University of New Orleans with a master’s in business administration (2003), James has been a trusted resource for nonprofits, educational institutions, entrepreneurs and small businesses alike. James also has and continues to serve on the boards of several local nonprofits.
James grew up in the historic Orange Mound neighborhood in Memphis, Tennessee and lived in poverty all of his childhood. He is a proud product of the Memphis Public School System and is committed to ensuring that all students with similar backgrounds are afforded the same or better educational, business and life opportunities that he has been fortunate enough to receive.
A former college basketball player at Pittsburg State University, James believes whole hardly in the core team principles of organization, communication, collaboration, conflict resolution and support. He currently resides in New Orleans with his beautiful wife of 27 years – Barbara and their three children Bryce, Brooke and Blair.
